Deras egen presentation lyder (dec 2000): »The Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie (CBG) has a special place in genealogical research in the Netherlands. It was set up in 1945, by representatives of Government and Business to serve as a documentation and information centre for family history and heraldry. Since then, the CBG has been collecting the results of work done by family researchers, and this material is all available to the researchers of today. More than 100 visitors make use of the reading rooms of the CBG each day.»
