Norstedt (Kate's maiden name Lewis) This photo is a direct scan of the original and was taken during their honeymoon trip to Västervik in in May of 1882 where they stayed until September of that year. Ebba Cavetz was their sister in law who married Johann's brother Adolf Magnus Norstedt. Johann Albert was born 1847-01-04, Västervik, Kalmar County, Sweden, Married to Kate Lewis 1882-05-22, Mount Carmel, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died 1914-02-20, 2:00 PM, Mount Carmel, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania U.S.A. of pneumonia. Johann was very famous in Mt. Carmel PA - he had 7 children, my Grandfather among them. Johann Albert had two brothers, Adolf Magnus Norstedt (Husband of Ebba Norstedt (Cavetz) -no children, and Gustaf Carl Norstedt who had a wife and one daughter who preceded him into death -the family does not know their names). I do not know who took the Adolf Magnus picture. It in all probability was taken in the Norstedt studio since he and his wife owned the store. I have cropped it for this correspndence. It was taken on his 60th birthday the year before he died 1902. Adolf Magnus was born 1842-08-01, Västervik, Kalmar County, Sweden. He died 1903-10-05, Västervik,Sweden, married Ebba Teresia Kristina Cavetz, 1870-09-11. She was born 1840-06-25, Stockholm, Sweden. She died 1906-09-04, buried 1906-09-09, Västervik, Kalmar County Sweden. The Norstedt's also owned a Jewelry, watch and clock store in Västervik. Johann learned the business and came to America in 1875 where he started the same type of store in Mt. Carmel PA. He only traveled back to Sweden once and it was during his honeymoon. Both Adolf and Johann were Jewelers and watch makers each owning their own store, Johann in Mt Carmel Pennsylvania US and Adolf in Vastervik. David Norstedt
